Peter Brandvold – Yakima Henry Bk 7 – Bullet for the Half-Breed – Reviewed 7/19/21 – Read 7/9/21Yakima Henry sort of walked into a job as shotgunner for the Coronado Transport Company located in Red Hill, he just could not figure out why he did that. He had planned to be in a warm area for the winter, not in this god-forsaken place. The company was partly owned by the Romans, father, and daughter. The jehu/driver, Avril Derks, was a grizzled old coot, but he knew his job and could handle a team with ease for his age. They had been rooming with each other since he signed on. The coach often carried payroll for the two big ranches west of Red Hill because the bank rarely kept much money on hand. Derks had told him that the coach had been hit quite a few times in the past few months. This was his third run so he was sitting at high alert just in case.When they pulled into Diamondback Station to change teams, Yakima, felt the itch start on the back of his neck. Nothing looked wrong but he knew better than to ignore his senses. He kept his Yellowboy in his hand as he climbed down and then opened the door for the passengers to walk around a little while they changed the team.
