BRAVE BOY was really cute and really sweet (in romance not in the steam level) and I love how K.M. Neuhold writes fairly low angst, super sexy reads where both MCs are kind and genuine people.What I Loved:- Emerson was a delight to read about. I loved him as Sterling’s friend in the previous book and I loved him even more in this one!- Emerson’s side job as an erotic gay author!. And I’m pretty sure there was an easter egg where the story Emerson is working on is actually the short story WATCH ME by Neuhold.- Kiernan was just so perfect and I adored the way he cared for Emerson and never pushed. Even when he realizes that BraveBoy and Emerson are the same person he goes at Emerson’s pace. He’s just so understanding and mindful of other people’s needs. I guess that’s what makes him such a good Daddy.- Emerson’s stutter isn’t overly traumatized or used as a plot point for suffering. It’s definitely a source of annoyance for him that he gets tongue tied around Kiernan at first, but he’s never shamed or made fun of for it. It’s just a part of who Emerson is and I felt like it was very normalized, which I’d like to see in more romances. Shy, stutterer bookstore owner Emerson has to figure out what to do about his crush on wealthy, successful “Daddy” Kiernan. This should be a sweet romantic tale, but it is more lustful than romance. There is enough of a story between detailed sexy times but I would have liked more MCs development. I did enjoy the texting dialogue and “virtual date”, though.Although, sometimes little things detract from the main storyline such as the constant reference to how expensive Kiernan’s sheets, suits, and gifts are. Or how did Kiernan purchase the perfect fitted suit for Emerson without his measurements? (I know, I’m a bit picky, but continuity is important). Overall, a good read, though I liked Pretty Boy more.
